Hello, I'm Mark Baldwin, the owner of Bear Creek Rug Care. My story in this industry began quite unexpectedly when I moved from Ohio to Atlanta in 1991. I was searching for a career that felt right and stumbled into the carpet cleaning business. Initially, I was just cleaning apartment carpets, but that's where my passion for this work really took root. I spent six years learning everything from cleaning and dyeing to stretching and repairing carpets, under the guidance of a mentor who also taught me about running a business and building lasting client relationships.
My company started small, servicing 40 apartment complexes in Atlanta. However, I realized I wanted to do more. So, I shifted my focus to residential and commercial carpet care, including fine rug cleaning and caring for wood and tile. This diversification helped my reputation grow, as clients came to trust my hard work, expertise, and reliability.
In 2016, my family and I moved to the mountains, and it was the perfect opportunity to rebrand my business as Bear Creek Rug Care. The name was inspired by a bike trail I love, symbolizing both my connection to nature and my journey in this industry. In our facility, we have state-of-the-art rug cleaning machines, ideal for the cabins and hardwood floors prevalent in north Georgia. We've also expanded to clean hardwoods, tiles, marble, laminates, and carpets, catering to a diverse range of home care needs.
My approach to customer service is simple but effective. I believe in punctuality, clear communication, and taking the time to do the job right. To me, every job is an opportunity to showcase my dedication to quality work. When I'm not working, I enjoy mountain biking and spending precious time with my family, my wife Kalee, and daughter Ryn. As Ellijay and the surrounding areas grow, I look forward to building new client relationships while continuing to offer top-tier service to my loyal Atlanta clients.
